Dear Colleagues, Friends and Family, I would like to share a short Documentary about my heartfelt work with the Children and Teachers in Kliptown, Soweto with you. The Documentary was made pro bono by Swiss Filmmaker Christina Karrer and her Assistant Amani Vallihu who hails from South Africa. The work that I am doing with the children is based on the Chava Shelhav Child’Space method, a training program of developmental monitoring of babies and parents based on the Theory of Dr Moshe Feldenkrais. I have recently qualified as a Child’Space Practitioner in Amsterdam and I am now operating from Johannesburg, South Africa. Hamba. Bamba. Funda – (translation: Move. Touch. Learn) Pty Ltd (NPC) was registered on 16 July 2019 under registration number 2019/337853/08. It is a non-profit company that I intend to register as a public benefit organisation in terms of South African tax legislation. The company has two independent competent black female directors, and I am also a director. The company intends to work towards rolling out a dual-purpose pilot project in Kliptown as follows: I will work with the principal of the Kliptown Community Pre School to recruit caregivers who wish to learn about early childhood development and who need to be employed. The aim is to train caregivers. And Work with the principal and community leaders to open the training to young mothers who wish to participate in the pilot project to assist them in caring for and stimulating their own children and to empower them by helping them access their potential as young, dynamic individuals.
